Because Narcisse aroused a desire that see its transparent body, Narcisse had a severe ending, however, Yeon Kim keeps traced her poetry emotions about the nature. It operated the important motive to her past sculpture “Riverside” and presents sculpture “Traveling to the light”.

As she divided unformed nature’s substances, such as water, fire and sky, from the continuity, she granted the material’s feature and the object. In the sculpture “Traveling to the light”, Yeon Kim represented the spirit of the shape which shown by the nature. She tried to express that when we stand in the nature, we are accompanied to purify the heart and to inspire awe from the nature.

 

 
     
 
  Yeon Kim
Yeon Kim was born in Seoul in 1967. She studied at Ewha Women’s University with a major in Sculpture. She holds a MFA in Sculpture from Ewha Women’s University. Yeon Kim had two solo exhibitions in 1999 and 2006: A lance at the waterside at Dukwon Gallery and Voyage to Light at Moran Gallery. Also she had numerous group exhibitions through many museums and galleries. She is a lecturer at Mokwon University, Suwon University, Kook-Min University and Soul National School for the Blind.
