Yeon Jin Kim, Hidden Toy, Single Channel Video, 2005

“Hidden Toy” is performance video, in which the performer
seems to throw herself on the white floor.
What people see is only the performer, who looks like nothing more
than a powerless and vulnerable doll. However, behind the camera,
as a viewer, I express my passive aggression towards something: ambiguous
anger, raised without any reasons. The performer is the ‘toy’ of
mine that I play with, in order to satisfy my hidden cruelty.
