Elizabeth Albert, Summer Day, Computer Print (Unframed) 16 x 20”, 2005

I started photographing with my Holga camera shortly after my second child was born. I shot one image each day. As the weeks and months went by, I amassed a series of pictures documenting the day-to-day moments of life with my children.

By modifying the camera to eliminate frame breaks, I started to explore overlapping images to create visual and emotional contrast. These pictures create a surreal narrative, reflecting how our lives are comprised of fleeting experiences which morph one into another.

The moments I am the most interested in capturing are mysterious and poignant, halfway between reality and memory.
