As a graphic designer, I have been interested
in how to reinterpret my cultural identity in a contemporary sense.
In other words, I want to accept and express the fact that I am a
Korean, and that Koreans have their own way of living, and a unique
realm of sentiments and philosophical principles.
Living in an industiral and digital era, we are obsessed with the subconsciousness
that more realistic, sharper, more rational, and more stylish is better.
However, our a priori realm of sentiments is rather conceptual than
realistic, rather obtuse than sharp, and rather metaphorical than forthright,
which I define as a poetic shape.
In “Dance”, I wanted to portray an episode of the life
with warmth of warm-hearted people. When one is most happy and joyous,
one dance naturally. In addition, I think that group dance is the most
and primeval freedom that one can enjoy without risking ones’s
sense of security and belonging. While one might think that freedom
is something that she enjoys by herself, what is the fun of dancing
all by herself?
I hope that the viewers of these delightful Dance experience the world
with warmth presented by the people with full of joy.
