Resonant I

July 8 through July 21

Hun Gallery is pleased to announce its inaugural exhibition, entitled "Resonant." The exhibition will be divided into 3 parts. "Resonant I" is on view from July 8 through July 21, "Resonant II" from July 22 through August 4th and "Resonant III" from August 5th through August 18th, 2005. Each section presents the work of seven different artists.

Assembled in this exhibition, "Resonant I" are artists who follow their own path, in varying voices and through different media, yet within the diversity, certain themes recur. The works of Mi Ja Jung Bryen, John Hawke, and Alexandra do Carmo investigate notions of space and its social construction. While the works of Yu-jung Suh, Frank Sheng-Feng Yeh, Sang-Min Lee invest the artmaking gesture with approaches ranging from meditative repetition to an "out-sourced" electro-mechanical continuum. Time, and its demands on artist and viewer, is also an important aspect in the works of Alexandra do Carmo, Sang-Min Lee, Un-Ju Lee, and Frank Sheng-Feng Yeh. Encompassing a wide spectra of works within the title Resonant, the exhibition aims to present works that subtly speak to each other and to the audience on issues of contemporary importance.

The exhibition will open with a reception on Friday July 8, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. For further information, please contact the gallery by phone (212) 594-1312, or at hungallery@yahoo.com
